CANAL FULTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The former band director at Northwest High School in Canal Fulton has been arrested on child sex charges.
29-year-old Stephen Imler of Norton was arrested Friday by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, after being indicted by a session of the Stark County grand jury on a sexual battery charge.
Prosecutors say Imler began grooming a female student as a freshman a few years ago, and incidents of sexual battery occurred in the 2025-2026 school year.
He was placed on leave before the current school year started.
He resigned last month.
